We are going Net Zero by 2030

We are on a Net Zero journey using lower carbon ways of farming and producing food - follow our sustainability journey on our social pages.

Working Hard to be Better

With our family values, we want to leave our planet in a better place for the next generations, sustainability is therefore, at the heart of our business.

We are 155% self sufficient in Electric

We generate all our own Electric and heat on our farm through Wind, Solar PV and Anaerobic Digestion (AD)

We grow our own pig feed !

We use more sustainable pig feed ingredients; Rye!

Rye requires half the amount of Nitrogen Fertiliser when compared to Wheat, therefore saving half the Nitrous Oxide GHG emissions. We are growing Rye without using any manufactured Nitrogen Fertiliser and instead recycling back our Pig Manures to fertilise our crops.

Recycling our Pig Manure

We capture the Methane from our pig Manure and use it to create Electric to power our production facilities. Through this sustainable loop system we can bring you a more sustainable Sausage.

EV Charging

Our recycled pig Manure can also charge your car! We have installed a 100kW rapid charger on our farm @ Uncle Henry’s. Come and charge your EV on pig poo! Our Energy Manager drives an electric Van to check everything is running well and soon our Pig Staff will also have an EV van. Our Sausage delivery Van is next on the list!

Net Zero 2040

As a business, we committed to reach Net Zero by 2040. Here is a picture of our Maize Maze in 2021. Follow us on our journey to sustainable pork production on our social pages.

Crop trials

We do crop trials on our farm every year to see if we can cut fertiliser usage. Fertiliser is a large emitter of Nitrous Oxide and as a Greenhouse gas has 298 times the warming effect of Carbon Dioxide. It is essential Agriculture works to grow more, with less.
